WELCOME
... to my new website. It has been developed in response to friends and acquaintances wanting to know what sort of painting I do. I have tried to describe
my work by using words like traditional, figurative, impressionistic, representational and realistic. Unfortunately these labels seem inadequate since I have not settled into any particular style or
subject preference; so I thought that it would be better to have my own
dedicated website and invite others to put me in whatever artistic pigeonhole they see
fit.
The experience of developing a website itself has been a steep learning curve for me. The task has always appeared daunting and it is often described in a form of ‘techno-speak’ that I find baffling. Fortunately, an internet search came up with a programme called Sandvox, which is specifically designed for Mac OS computers. This has taken all the pain out of the process of web-building and I recommend any Mac user to give it a try.
I have sought to keep my site map plain and simple so you should not have much trouble in navigating your way around it. The gallery sections, which are the core of the site, will expand and sub-divide in time, being essentially a work in progress. Perhaps I am being slightly over-ambitious in introducing a weblog because I have no idea at the time of writing this introduction what it might cover. It is really my way of trying to make the site interactive and a place where one can share experiences, information and knowledge. Anyway, I hope you will find your visit here interesting and, if you want to make any comments, please feel free to contact me.
